McKenzie Lake

The development of McKenzie Lake has occurred for the last 30 years. Popular communities continue to grow, even over several decades. In the center of the community is the lake itself, into which an island extends; this property is the most sought-after in the entire community, and it is protected by a gate. Homes easily achieve prices of $2,500,000 and up, while more accessible areas of the community have homes as low in price as $300,000.

What are the borders of McKenzie Lake? The Bow River to the west, Deerfoot Trail to the east, 22X to the south and 130th Avenue to the north. In 2012 the population was 14,050, which is very large for Calgary but makes sense given the long development time of the community. In total McKenzie Lake contains 4,653 dwellings.

    Transit
Another great benefit of McKenzie Lake is the express bus route (117) that travels through it. Express routes make public transit, which is usually slow by bus, much quicker.

    Parks & Recreation
McKenzie Lake is located on the banks of the Bow River, which provides residents yet another site for outdoor recreation. In fact, pathways lead from the community out onto the greenery surrounding the river, which make the two areas feel intertwined. For golfers the community provides the McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, but shoppers aren’t left out either.

The Southpointe Shopping Centre and the Deer Valley Shopping Centre are located near to McKenzie Lake. When residents want to take in a movie they have two choices in Landmark Cinemas 10 and Canyon Meadows Cinemas. Amusement can be had by families and individuals alike at the nearby Kart World Family Fun Centre, Laser Quest and Shakers Fun Centre.
